“Websites Make You Money While You Sleep” Is a Lie (Sorta)

We’ve all seen the line:

“You need a website so it can make you money while you sleep!”

That pitch is a little ✨ misleading ✨

Not because it’s a lie or that it’s impossible, but because what they don’t tell you is everything it takes to get there.

Most web designers won’t tell you this, because well, we’re web designers.

So what you usually don’t get is the full scope of what actually goes into a site that converts.

You don’t hear about:

  • Offers that need to be locked in first
  • Messaging that speaks directly to your people
  • Copy that guides someone from “interested” to “in”
  • Keyword research and backend setup that helps you show up
  • Visual branding like your colors, fonts, logos

And that’s all before we even touch the design.

A website can book you clients while you’re off the clock, but it’s not happening just because you added a fade-in animation to your header photo.

It comes from everything working together. Your branding, your copy, your SEO, your design.

And that’s what we’re diving into today.

Your Canva-made wordmark will do just fine. You don’t need a $2K+ logo package (yet).

Oh, and that contact form? Make it easy AF to find. People shouldn’t have to dig just to work with you.
